I’m Julia Lodoen. I am a Ph.D. student in Political Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), concentrating in international relations and security studies. I am also affiliated with the MIT Security Studies Program. My research interests include nuclear strategy, multipolar nuclear deterrence, political violence, and civil-military relations, with a focus on South Asia.
Prior to starting at MIT, I was a Junior Fellow in the South Asia Program at The Stimson Center. I graduated with a B.A. in Political Science and an M.A. in International Relations from the University of Chicago. I have native fluency in Spanish, advanced proficiency in French, and basic knowledge of Russian.
